What is a Multi-Function Display?

Modern boats especially bay, center console, and offshore types are no longer built with simple analog or digital gauges on their consoles. On the contrary, most new boats are built with an integrated multi-function display (MFD) that puts considerable power at the fingertips of the captain. With just the touch of the screen, an MFD can toggle between speed, fuel burn, charts, depth, bottom structures, and much more.

Why Do I Need This?

Truth told, you don’t need an MFD, however, once you’ve seen the benefits (think running water, electricity) of a Simrad or similar device, like most, you’ll probably consider it a must-have feature.
